Anybody who saw the Butchers under 19’s run out with 10 men against 13 last week would have noticed the skill and football knowledge displayed from Hooker Jarrad Whitty. Jarrad has been selected the last few years to represent Illawarra in the Harold Mathews and S.G Ball competitions and returned at the completion of competitions to show his skills while wearing a Butchers Jumper. His individual try that he scored last year in the under 18’s was one of the best you will see from a young player. Hopefully we see Jarrad rise through the Thirroul ranks into First Grade although representing at a higher level may the only thing preventing it!
