Super Saturday

Welcome to Winter!!!

What a Saturday of footy we have lined up.

The Butchers would like to welcome our neighbouring club the Northern Suburbs Bulldogs to Gibson Park this weekend. Its only on rare occasions the two clubs get to play at the some ground and this weekend will see that happen. With Wests not fielding an U19’s team this year the Bulldogs will step into the 12pm slot and take on the Wests Devils Coal shield team.

The Butchers will take the field after this game in reserves and 1st grade battling it out with the Wests club for the 2 points.

With first grade coming off a tough win against the Cougars they will look to take down the ladder leaders and continue on their winning ways. Last weekend seen a lot of the clubs juniors filtering through to the 1st grade team which is a great sign for the future of the club. Once again our senior players with the likes of Grose, Beath, Waterhouse, Blanch and Swain stood up to lead the way and will need to do the same if the Butchers are to claim another win this weekend.

The game between the two first grade teams will mark the 20th anniversary of the 1995 premiership victory. A reunion is currently being organised for our last home game for the 1995 players, committee and sponsors more details when they come to hand.

Our reggies are doing it tough this year and will be out to produce their best to get over the top of the Wests team and notch up their first win of the season.

Coal Shield will see the undefeated Northern Suburbs Bulldogs takeing on a very strong Wests team. This game is sure to be a cracker, so if you can get down to Gibbo Park early to support these guys I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.

Hopefully with the two neighbours playing at the same ground we can get a big crowd to support both clubs.
