Butchers a step closer

Last night seen the 1st grade team take a step closer to back to back titles with a win over the Dapto canaries. The boys started out a bit slow in the first half with the canaries taking a 12 nil lead half way through the half. The Butchers hit back right on half time to go in to the break 12-6 down. The second half a different Butchers team took the field and racked up 28 unanswered points before they switched off allowing the Dapto team to score a few late tries. Final score was Butcher 34 defeating Dapto 24. Unfortunately our U19’s team bow out of the competition with a 28 to 16 loss to Corrimal.

Full report will be in Mondays Illawarra Mercury.

Some of our junior teams also played in finals and Grand finals over the weekend. Our U12-1s coached by last years 1st grade captain coach Nathan Fien went down in a tight grand final to Collies 10 – 6

The under 16’s had a good win 20 – 6 over collies and move into the final next weekend. And our U17’s coached by 2008 premiership winning captain and next years U18’s coach Ben Linde had a convincing win over NorthBurgh (Norths and the Burgh combined team) 36 – 14 and go on to play Wests in next Saturdays grand final
