Some outstanding results over the weekend for The Butchers will see Under 18’s and Reserve Grade play in the Grand Final this coming weekend.
The weekend started off well with The Butchers u/17 side winning their grand final 16-4 against Collegians.
Our Under 18’s bounced back from their Extra time loss in the Major Semi with a strong display against Dapto, running out 32 – 6 winners. Zac Lomax was Thirrouls best, not far behind was Joel Meznaric, Cooper Purcell and Will Farrer. Coached by Ben Linde, the have had an excellent year and no matter what the result is on the weekend, they have been great representatives for the club this year and will provide plenty of players into the grade teams next year.
Reserve Grade trounced Wests 32 -12 after leading 26-0 at half time. The Butchers forwards laid a great platform with Luke Shiels, Hayden Joliffe and Mitch Mclean leading they way. Jarrod Prosser, Dane Francis and Tom Simpson had big games while the depth of the club was on show with Riley Lord, Joel Meznaric and Alex Hart had an impact from the bench.
Congratulations to all involved, hopefully we can see two trophys back at the pub on Sunday night
