Another one of our former players family is in need of a hand.
Former player Mark Wilkinson’s daughter suffers from a rare condition called Rett Syndrome. Amelia can not feed or dress herself, is unable to speak, is wheelchair bound and has to be transported in a specially modified vehicle. Amelia’s family are currently trying to up grade their old car for a new one to allow them to continue to get Amelia around.
“Imagine the symptoms of autism, cerebral palsy, Parkinson’s, epilepsy & anxiety disorder,
all in one child. This is Rett Syndrome”
These vehicles cost in excess of $90,000. The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) will assist the family with part of the cost, Wilko and his family will be contributing what they can towards the car but it still leaves a big gap in funding. A bowls day has been organised to a try and fill some of this gap.
If you are free and want a great afternoon out while helping out young Amelia and her family check out the flier below and click on the register tab to put a team in or play as an individual. Every one is welcome and hopefully we can help this family out.
