Today will see the Butchers OldBoys take to the field for the start of the 2019 NRL masters at Runaway Bay on the Gold Coast, this will be the 11th straight year the OldBoys have participated in the tournament.
The competition runs from Thursday 7th to Saturday 9th with the team playing 5 games with modified rules.
This year will see a record number of mens teams taking part with 270 games played between 104 teams across 10 fields
NRL Masters rugby league began in 2006 after numerous studies were undertaken to develop a modified form of the game that would be appealing to over 35 players and has become big and big each year from there on.
In 2018 the Butchers Old Boys were presented with Appreciation Trophy having played at ten Carnivals
